Revival Soy Doctor Q&A's
Name: Patty

Question:
Dr. Tabor,

I am so upset. I have been taking Revival for 5 months and it has almost eliminated my hot flashes. A few weeks ago, I had my yearly appointment with my OB/GYN. She was lukewarm on Revival. She said it's "estrogen" and that studies show that estrogen consumption increases cancer risk....(I Stopped hearing the rest of what she said because I was so disappointed). I stopped taking it the next day, but am starting with hot flashes again. I don't know what to do. Thank you.

Answer:
Hello Patty.

Thank you for contacting me about #1 Doctor-recommended Revival Soy protein supplement. Our mission is to help others live a life they love with good nutrition, education and medical research :)

Of course, please discuss this information with your physician.

How much estrogen does 1 Revival bar or shake equal?

Soy protein does not contain “estrogen”, so it is difficult to compare the two. Isoflavones, sometimes referred to as “plant estrogens” or "phytoestrogens", are similar, but very different than your body’s estrogen and act in many different ways. Many studies have and are looking at these differences.

Many scientists agree that soy isoflavones, which are similar to the body's estrogen in structure, may support health by lightly binding to estrogen receptors, thus, producing some of the benefits of estrogen without negative side effects.

Soy protein will not raise or add to your estrogen levels. Soy will raise your soy isoflavone levels. Soy isoflavones will not show up on standard blood tests for estrogen levels that you get at your healthcare provider. Only special research tests can measure isoflavone levels in your blood, urine or saliva at this time.

Studies indicate that soy consumption can balance estrogen levels to a healthier level. Soy may positively impact the way your body metabolizes estrogen.
